2nd Xeon CPU in a ML350 G3 server?

Hi,

I have a 3.06Ghz Xeon, 512K L2, 533FSB CPU in the server.

I've bought a new CPU at 2.8Ghz, 512K L2, 533FSB.

Can I install the second Xeon into my Dual Xeon board?

I've already tried and the server fails to boot, red light on front.

My understanding is that the 3Ghz CPU would revert down to the speed of the 2.8Ghz CPU.

Is that the case for this server?

Do I need to make any BIOS changes?

You can't mix CPU with Different Speed in that box

Both processors should be exactly same in specifications
