Hi Prashant S,

Thanks for reply. Would you mind if I ask your experience?

How many times that you have added a new disk to the existing array without rebuild array or re-install operating system?
I just want to know about successful rate of this procedure. Because of this machine has many application and data.

Thank you very much,
Nitass
Thanks for reply. I understood the diskpart.exe uses for extending volume into unallocated space. But how can I extend a new disk to the existing array without re-build array or re-install operating system?

If I misinterpreted something, please let me know.

Thanks,
Nitass

Hi Nitass!

At first you must add new disk to configured array using ACU. Then expand existing logical volume (ACU). Make expand/rebuild priority to "high". Note, that diskpart utility can expand non-system logical drive only. To perfom "resizing" system disk, use utilities such as Acronis Disk Director, PowerQuest PartitionMagic

Hi Ruslan,

What you meant is I can add a new disk to the existing array by running ACU program in Windows. Is it right?

If yes, do you know the successfully percent of this procedure? I am little worrying about the process and data that running on the current system.

And do you have any document for this procedure? I would like to keep to the reference.

Thanks,
Nitass

Hi,

Please go though the manual avable on web
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/software-management/acumatrix/index.html

Or you can use your smartstart cd boot through it then use the acu in there to create a raid or destroy a raid from there.

Regards,
Prashant S.
