      <title>DL380 convert to simplex</title>

      <description>I have a DL380 with 6 internal 146 GB drives set currently to duplex mode on the embedded controller.  I need to convert to simplex mode so that I can use the external scsi port for a tape drive.  Is this going to be data destructive to my existing hard drives?  How do I find the procedure to do this without losing data on my drives?</description>

      <description>Hi Tim!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The RAID configuration stored on disk drives, therefore you can move to simplex configuration without losing data and raid config.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) Power down the server. &lt;BR /&gt;2) Remove the access panel. &lt;BR /&gt;3) Remove front fan bracket. (You do not need to remove fans.) &lt;BR /&gt;4) Remove the terminator module, the bottom clip first. &lt;BR /&gt;</description>
