I observe that the Surveyor utility is no longer being installed through the smartstart assisted installation. Is there any other tool one could use to gather information about the HP Servers.

Thanks,
topokin

The mechanism for obtaining survey information is as follows:

Open the Systems Management Homepage
Select Insight Diagnostics
If survey has not previously been scheduled of run, then it must be run in order to compile the information as follows:
Select Schedule Survey Capture (and set to run a minute or two in the future - Once run then set to a realistic schedule, say every Sunday at 22:00)
Select Advanced View from dropdown
Select save and select to file
Enter the file name as <FILENAME.HTML> e.g. FS1_2006-05-19.html and select save

It is also possible to produce comparison details from the same screen. This is vastly improved from the previous survey.txt
</FILENAME.HTML>

Thanks to you all, especially the step-by-step descriptions by Collins. I was eventually able to use the tool in getting the required information for most systems, however, I am having the following DLLs problem with 2 servers. The loading just get stuck and it goes no further.

1) ML350 G2: tcispect.dll
2) DL380 G4: tcrib.dll

Any idea,

Thank,
topokin
