FWIW I fixed my problem. Win98 DOS could not read the ~ character on my custom CD. Burned the CD with the "DOS Character set" option in Nero and those files were suddenly visible.

Martin

Background:
Installing W2K server using Scripting tools on ML370 G3 with an HP 5300 array controller. The array controller/disk setup works great from the floppy; I'm using an UNATTEND.TXT response file to comlpete the OS install.

My problem:
When the Win2K installation starts copying files, it hangs each time it can't find a music file:

BACHSB~1.RMI
BEETHO~2.RMI
UTOPIA~1.WAV
etc.

Of course these files are on the installation CD in the i386 dir:

BACHSB~1.RM_
BEETHO~2.RM_
UTOPIA~1.WA_

Setup has no problem finding the other compressed files VGA.DL_ becomes VGA.DLL, for instance.

I tried deleting references to the music files from LAYOU.inf; that doesn't work.

Any other workarounds?

Thanks,

Martin
