ML530 and smartstart

Hi,

i am trying to install an ML530 G1 with the new smartstart CD - won´t work.

Where can i get a working smartstartCD - i guess v. 5.50 - Am i right?

A 7.x Smart Start CD would work. Maybe you can get an older one like 7.4?

Eitherway... you can get 5.5 here (as well as others)...

hanxs a lot... - iwill try!

One final question - smartstart also means that smartstart will install also the operating system, when cds are there?

On a dell system - the smartstart-Cd asks fpr Win2003CDs - and then begins completly.

I will install SBS 203 on the machien - do i have to do it manually - or will smartstart assist me ( asking for Cds etc.)?

not to the internal SCSI ... MicroD-50 (Female) SCSI Connector SCSI II

if you use additional card it have to be compatible with PCI-X 100 / 133 and than you might get external ports or adapter to: MicroD-50 (Female) SCSI Connector if there some available on the market

OK,

( i am a little bit new in these things)

after trying smartstart 7.50, 7.40 - both wonÂ´t work.

Can anybody tell me, which version will run really on my ML530G1?

The version of SS 5.50 runs, reboots, confuguires scsi and so on - says to reboot - and then same way again - no question for Cds - and so on.

SS tries to copy files somewhere - diskette drive?

is any Array Controller Installed ? ROC or 5300 ?

If Yes:
Create Array from 5.5 or from POST F8
Boot to O/S CD and use F6 for Driver or if 2003 proceed with install

If No: proceed direct Install

after Install PSP
