Fisch,

if you have Windows 2003 as your OS, can you try to upgrade the P600 f/w online with a SmartComponent ?
The f/w packages for version V1.20 and V1.50 are downloadable from here:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/locate/69_6153.html

If you have another OS then WIndows 2003, try from this list and see if it is available as a online update as alternative to the offline update you are trying with the F/W cdrom.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/family/model/6153.html?lang=en&cc=us

HTH

Kris
I'm unable to flash the firmware of the P600 smart array controller to the newest version 1.50 using the Firmware Maintenance CD 7.50.

It detects the controller and the current Rom 1.18 but it won't update it to 1.50.

This is what the log says:

Error in Flash Operation
Failure: Product 3225103c at controller position 0 with old version 1.18 has not been updated with new version 1.50.

What can I do?

That's a known issue in which engeneering is working on, by the moment what you can do is update the FW from your OS. Using the links above.

Thanks for the advice. But there is no OS installed yet.
I tried flashing it for like 6 times and magically it flashed on that last try.
So it does work - you just need to try again and again.
