We are looking for a simple solution to recognize if the RAID-System fails.
At the moment we don´t get any information if a harddisk fails.
The system still works an you only get information about
the "broken" harddisk if you read the logfile.

Is there a little monitor-program on the "SmartStart CD" ?

You can use Insight Event Notifier - part of Proliant support pack.
You need to configure this service
(Start->Programs -> HP management agents ->Event Notifier config)

If you have many Proliant servers consider HP insight manager implementation
