Confirmed - US version.

When I uninstall the device from device manager and redetect or reboot, it comes back up as an unknown device. When I re install the driver, this appears in the log file:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setup Session Beginning 7/30/2006 - 23:34:35 PM
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Command Line Parameters Given:

Beginning Interactive Session...

Name: HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Management
Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003
New Version: 5.40.0.0

The software is not installed on this system, but is supported for
installation.

Installation failed on at least one device. One of the devices may have
been deleted through Device Manager and a reboot may be necessary to
complete the driver installation for this device.

The operation was not successful.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
End Session
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently inherited a client who had a massively misconfigured HP Proliant ML370 G4 running Windows 2003 Server. I reinstalled the OS, loaded SP1, everything works great except the ILO controller shows that dreaded yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, and states "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware". I've reloaded the PSP, still same problem. Reinstalled the specific driver (version 5.40), and problem continues. Uninstalled from Device Manager, re-scanned devices, pops back up with the same problem.

I'm open to suggestions!

Steven,

Make sure you have last ILO firmware
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24584.html

Steven,
although I see in your profile "USA" - any chance you use not-English version of windows 2003 ?
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1005880

Hi Steve,

I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you to try but I too have this same problem that's been haunting me for a while. I have many DL380G4 experiencing the same issue.

I have tried everything in my power including deleting and removing all HP PSP drivers I could find. Even out of the registry I removed all references to even the System Homepage. Same issue where I cannot successfully install the 7.51 version of the ILO System Management Driver.
