>>what would happen if the battery exhausts?

SmartArray controller cache will be disabled and array performance degraded

>>Will there be any possible data loss of configuration information damage?

No ! No data loss, just performance degraded.

Hi,

I am using Proliant 380 servers and firmware version is low, I am receiving "battery low" information from RAID controller and I know this might be caused by low version firmware.

However my question is if I am unable to update firmware now to eliminate the message, what would happen if the battery exhausts? Will there be any possible data loss of configuration information damage?

Any ideas appreciated for this silly question.

Cheers,
