The only thing you should have to do is verify that the BIOS sees the correct amount of RAM. Other than that it should be pretty easy.

Shalom,

I happen to be familiar with this class of server.

You shut the box down, open the top, stick in the new memory and then close the top, and power back up.

You may be prompted to approve the new memory configuration. This usually involves pressing a function key. This class of server has 6 or perhaps 8 memory slots so you will not need to remove any memory to make this upgrade.

SEP

Hi,

The dl360 g4p server has 6 memory slots in total and can take upto a max of 12gb, 6x2gb dimms if you buy the 4gb kits.

The memory has to be paired, and the proper kit will get you 2x dimms.

You could go for 1x 1gb kit and 1x 2gb kit would be the cheapest option for you, to take you to 4gb but that doesnt allow for any expansion later without replacing what you would have just bought. If you can afford it go for the 4gb kit and you still have a bank free if needed.

no further configuration is needed by the hardware, it will see the new memory and test it upon reboot. its not slot dependent either, just install in the next free ones startig with bank A,B, and C

Andy
