Need suggestion on how to add HDD to an existing array

on DL 380 G4 model server RAID 5 is configured with 143 x 3 HDDs. Now our requirement is we need to add one 143GB HDD to this existing array and this 143GB HDD needs to be configured as a different partition. can you please help me in this regard ???

first of all make a backup

you will need Array configuration utility (ACU)
to expand and extend, depends on your OS
look for Array Configuration Utility

to create or extend a partition you have to use a 3 party software

thanks for the reply.. i don't understand how can actonis diskdirector can help me to make a different partition of one of RAID 5 disk Volume.. my requirement is I want to make a new partition ( new drive letter) of one of the newly added HDD to RAID 5.

the result is dependant on the OS used.
In case of w2k3 there is no problem.
Ofcourse it's always preferred to do a backup first.
Then put the drive in the server. Start ACU and add the new drive to the array. Within ACU extend the raid5 volume with the capacity of the newly added drive.
Within windows disk manager the extra size is immediately seen and can be used to create an extra partition.
