For some reason after a new upgrade on a ML350 G5 I get "Processor unsupported"

So now it bootes and says "Will ONLY RUN ROMPAQ DISK"

So i goto the hp site and the RomPaq for this server is to big to fit on a Disk..??

Is there a way either jumpers or other wise to go back to the original Rom?

This is a dev system so not critical, but I'd like to fix it?

Or how can i use a Rompaq disk that is 4mb?

When you download the 4 mb file it extracts itself and there is a folder labelled "ROMPaq Diskette" using this you can create a bios floppy. Also inside the folder is a txt file with instructions on how to make the floppy.

Hope this helps.

link for download:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27093.html

Set positions 1, 5, and 6 of the system maintenance switch to On. Turn on the system, you should hear two beeps, power system back down, turn off 1,5, 6 then turn on, and that should manually turn on the redundant rom.

ok, if that didn't work, try this...

turn on switch 1,4,5,6 (only these ones) on the maintenance switch pack, and turn the system on with the bios floppy in the drive. what will happen is you won't get video and it will attempt to flash the bios manually. if it works, the floppy drive light will stay lit for a while and when the flash is done, the server should emit a series of tones.

if this doesn't work what I would suggest is to downgrade the bios using the same method to the previous version.
