I have some servers that has this software called event notifier config. I've been searching high and low for this software and can't find it. It's an old software looks like from 2002. I've tried various different hp downloads that remotely sounds like it. Everytime i find someone from HP's website it says that I don't have the right array for it. I have a few ML350 so of them has the event notifier and others don't. I just want to install this software because it sends me an email alert when something fails on the server. Please help.

When I try to install the agents I get this error:

The software is not supported for installation on this system.

The installation program couldn't find the appropriate system management controller driver which is required but is not currently installed. Please install the appropriate system management controller driver and then rerun the setup program.

Press 'Close' to exit Setup.

Is there something i need to install first? I don't want to effect anything else. I'm thinking that this server wasn't installed with the smart start cd.

Thanks again.

Hi, I just installed the support packs and it failed to installed the agents, but it installed the rest.

I tried to reinstall just the agents again this time it gave me an error about not having sufficient rights to start the hp insight foundation services (which i should).

I then looked at the services and found that the start button to start the hp foundation, server agents, nic agents, are greyed out. I also noticed that hp insight event notifier is set to disabled.

Do you think i need to reboot the system? It didn't say that I had to.

I think you must uninstall everything related with HP on Add/remove Programs
- restart server
- install Proliant support pack again
- and install that application

which server is that and which OS?

regards

I didn't have to reboot. I looked at the event viewer and what I discovered was that I needed the windows snmp installed.

Thanks for all your help.
