IDE disk on ML370 G1

I attached an IDE disk on ML370 (G1) server as slave on the same channel as the CD-drive.
I got message : IDE disk not supported.
Is there an Rompaq update available for IDE support ?

I dont think u can connect an HDD as "slave" to a Primary CD/DVD drive to integrated IDE controller.

No ROMPAQ available to get this going either.
ML370s would either support SCSI hdd on integrated SCSI adapter, or, on an smart array controller.

Is it a question of "slave" position ?
I will try it as master on primary or the second IDE channel, should this work ?
