System Hangs while shutdown.....

Dear friends,
We have HP DL580 G4 server having OS: windows 2003 X64 Enterprise edition SP-1.
It's wotrking fine & noramally shutdown.
When we install service pack 2 for windows 2003 X64 Enterprise edition,then after sucessfull installation it does not shutdown.
The blank green screen is there & hangs in 2-3 minutes.
Kindly request you to send some solution for same.

We don't have NC510F or NC510C Gigabit Server Adapter,We have NCC 7771 Network Adaptor installed in Server is this issue with this adapter also.

Is there any specific procedure for firmware upgradation for HP DL 580 G4.
Any precaution to take while firmware upgradation? ,becoz server having OS installed.

There is no specific "procedures" as such.
However, i would recommend a complete backup
Also, there are ONLINE VERSIONs of the Firmwares to be updated; which means they can be updated without have to reboot the server, & the changes are immediately taken effect.

Dear Friends,
I have installed Windows 2003 server x64 enterprise edition on HP DL 580, afterward itâ s working fine (i.e normally shutdown), then I installed Service pack 2 for Windows 2003 server x64 enterprise edition from that period, I am facing problem of Hangs while shutdown.
When I uninstall SP-2 ,itâ s working OK.
I also tried out

Dear Friends,
We have installed Latest PSP 7.90 installed & latest ROM bios 14/07/2007,latest controller firmware.
Now it doesn't hang on shutdown,but it take almost 10-15 Minutes to Shutdown.
Kindly request you to suggest any solution to improve the performance for the same.

Dear Friends,
I have observed that,when I disable Qlogic Fibre channel adapter FC HBA -FC1142SR,Then system shutdown in 2-3 minutes(Noramally).
I have updated latest HBA firmware 4.06 as well as driver of HBA card,but while in enable HBA card the problem is still same(i.e its taking 10-15 minutes to shutdown).
from above exercise ,i found that this an issue between Qlogic Fibre channel adapter FC HBA -FC1142SR of DL580 G4 Server & Windows 2003 x64 R2 extended OS.
Kindly request you to send some solution for same.

sometimes havinf the latest driver does not work try prior versions of the driver as well the firmware but one at a time I mean try first with the driver after firmware trying to isolated what is causing this the driver or firmware

I have tried following steps:
1. freshly install windows 2003 x64 r2 with sp-1 os.
2. then Update latest firmware & drivers
3. then install SP-2.
Still result is same.
I have perform above 1 & 3 steps Without installing latest firmware & drivers,but result is same.
Then I perform following steps.
1. freshly install windows 2003 x64 r2 with sp-1 os.
2. remove HBA Card.
3.Installed SP-2.(System shutdown noramally)
4.Mount HBA Card(System shtdown in 10-15 Min).
I tried out with step 3 & 4 in reverse order also,but result is same.

Can u suggest any corrective steps ???

We ran into an issue where an admin applied the latest Firmware updates to a DL580 G4, running W2K3 x64 Entprise SP1, then applied ProLiant Support Pack v8.00 causing the server to Blue Screen. When the server was brought back issues with the Storageworks Fibre Channel Adapter kit needed to be resolved. Once those issues were resolved, we found that the NICs (NC371i) in the server were not working. It turns out that HP does not have compatible NIC drivers for the latest firmware and W2K3 x64 Ent.
