Hi...
I've lately experiencing problems performing offline firmware upgrade. I'm using the following procedure:
Boot from the latest (I think) Firmware CD (version 7.90) and from the Firmware Update tab I choose the install firmware link. Than it lists de software packages at the \compaq\swpackages directory and at the next stage notinhg hapens.
Does anyone knows how long does that stage takes at an ML 530 dual Xeon @3GHz with 4GB RAM and 8*72GB HDD array.
I need to upgrade some of the HDD's firmware.

Thank you!
André

I am not sure that the ML530 supports the 7.90 firmware. I thought that 7.60 was the last one for this model server, but you might double-check.

Thank you all guys!!! I am sure it is a G2... I've take my time "looking" at it. And the 7.90 Firmware CD is apropriated... I've allready done a on-line firmware update, but the online method can't be apllied for HDD firmware upgrade. And, as I mentioned, there is a Tape loader conected to an external SCSI port that might be causing this mess.

Will give you all feedback as soon as possible.
AS
