Hi,

here you can find the technolgy used in DL580 G3 :

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual〈=en&cc=us&docIndexId=179911&taskId=101&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=408421

At the bottom of the page there is a .pdf : "Technologies for the ProLiant ML570 G3 and ProLiant DL580 G3 servers"

Didn't post the link, because it only can be downloaded with "save target as".

The other document for memory configuration is :

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12195_div/12195_div.HTML

under "Memory" section.

Regards,
Pac

What is the memory architecture of a DL580 G3 box (like NUMA for example)? Also are there any special steps that need to be taken when inserting DIMMs to ensure proper memory interleave?

I've read the 580 guide and it does not go into any detail on the memory architecture, and it only states that the DIMMS need to be added in pairs.
Hi VBZ-Mike,

To check the memory configuration please go through the link below
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12195_na/12195_na.html#Memory

Additional settings are required only if u want to configure online spare and that is done through RBSU i.e F9.

Lemme know if this answers your question if not provide more info about how much dimm do u want to install and if yes then please dont forget to assign ponts..

Regards,
Resolution Gaurantted

hi

to tell you the truth

there is no too much information about NUMA - SUMA - UMA on this server

I found about DL585 g2 that supports NUMA by default

I collected some information maybe can help you

1. What memory does the ProLiant DL580 G3 support? Is it interleaved?

The ML570 G3 supports 48GB of 400MHz dual-interleaved DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-3200R). Base models come standard with 1GB (2x512MB) and rack-optimized models come standard with 2GB (2x1GB). Memory is interleaved and must be installed in pairs. Optional 1GB (2x512MB), 2GB (2x1GB), 4GB (2x2GB Single Rank), 4GB (2x2GB Dual Rank) and 8GB (2x4GB), memory option kits are available. Please see the ML570 G3 Quickspec for additional information.

2. memory order (that's the only info)
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12195_na/12195_na.html#Memory

3. and a link for more information about interleaving
it is a file with some PDFs

http://karlochacon.googlepages.com/memory.zip
it is from my google page

regards
