DL380 G5 HHD Leds blinking

Proliant DL380 G5. The 8 hard drives are split 2=vol 0 6(with spare)=vol 1. The LEDs on the 5 drives blink in sequence and the server is non-responsive. Why? and how do I get back in it with cold booting?

5 of them have amber LED? that was it is you meant?

what is the RAID Level?
which controller?

have you tried run any diagnostic tool? well the server is booting? to run for example Smartstart?

There could be various reasons;

Then analyze the situation.. is it the Green LED or the Amber LED Flashing ?

As you see, there are various combination of both green & amber LEDs flashing... accordingly draw conclusion.

As you mention the server is non responsive... where ? I mean non-responsive within the OS or in POST or in RBSU ?

If its rebuilding Array & you have set the highest Priority then the response will be sluggish; Also it depends on how much BBWC you have for the controller... less MB will make it even more SLOW !!
