topic 5.5 smartstart iso image problems in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

I have downloaded smartstart 5.5 file from HP's website and have tried to create the cd from iso image file for our ML530 G1. I have had nothing but errors when trying to create the CD from the iso file. I have d/l'ed it several different times and tried to create the cd on different PCs with out any success. I've had no problem doing the same with the lastest 7.9 for our DL380G5 servers, my method must be correct.
Is anyone else having a problem with the smartstart-5.50-0.zip file?

Hello David,
I recall, there were few question mark on this version of smartstart earlier(3months back); if its not working for you, then the only option remains is to install the OS manually; I dont see an alternate location to download SS 5.5

Regards.

I also met the same problem, the iso file can't be burned to CD, there was always error during that. HP won't help as they asked me to place an order for smartstart 5.50. Finally I found a way to burn it successfully:
1. download the iso from HP website,
2. install daemon(virtual cd-rom) to load this iso,
3. check if the virtual drive (smartstart loaded) works or not,
4. if works, put a blank cd into your real cd-burner and run "copy a cd" with source of virtual cd and desination of real cd-burner.

Then you should get a working startsmart cd 5.50. :)
