Installation

Contents of this ZIP file:

Readme.txt

CD ISO image

spd.ini
Making a physical CD from an ISO image file
Download the file to a temporary directory and extract the ISO image to that directory.

To create a CD from this ISO image, you must use a software utility capable of writing an ISO file to a recordable media such as CD-R.

Note: Simply copying the ISO file to a CD-R will NOT result in a usable CD.

Use NERO or any software capable to make a cd out of an ISO file.. burning the ISO file as file won't work as bootable cd..

The proliant support pacj is just the drivers pack. It isn't bootable..

Now, what you have to do is do a manual installation, provide the storage controller driver by pressing F6 when begining the installation.

Right after installing apply the Proliant Support Pack and reboot.

Hello!

You are in a little bit of a tight spot. There is no Windows 2003 driver diskette for the server, and the Smartstart 5.5 doesn't support "assisted install" for Windows 2003 server.

This issue has also been discussed elsewhere on ITRC.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=675699

If that gives you no joy, check the document "Implementing Microsoft Windows Server 2003" at:
http://internet.ziffdavis.com/hp/wpapers/Win2003_upgrade_WP.pdf
(Page 12 onwards)

Please note that the white paper talks about creating System Configuration Utility diskettes to help in Smartstart assisted install. I haven't tried it, but please do let us know if it works that way.
