topic ML330 appears to not be following boot dequence in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

I've added a SATA controller card to add extra storage to the server. When the card is inserted in the pci slot, the server will not boot to the onboard raid controller. I've checked the boot sequence in bios and it is correct. Any ideas?
