Proliant ML150 G2 will not boot

The fans are on and the cd drive will open but the system will not display anything on reboot. The keyboard lights briefly flash on but there are no beeps. I suspect the motherboard has gone but would like to check before replacing.
Any help appreciated.

It might be a processor or a memory. Sometimes it might be caused by a third party PCI card or something additional installed in the server.
- My recommendation is to remove any additional PCI card in the server, to work with the minimun amount of memory. Clear CMOS. Reseat the all the possible parts, like memories, controller, cpu, PCI cards, sometimes they are not properly seated and that causes NO Post No video.

Thanks for your reply Gary, I have tried disconnecting everything as you suggested but it is still the same.
Do you think it is probably the board that has developed a fault?

I have now replaced the faulty motherboard and the server starts ok but will not boot into the operating system (sbs03). There are 3 80gb sata hard drives connected to the adaptec sata controller and the bios reports this a jbod array. I was not involved in setting up this server originally so I am not sure what the raid set up was. All I know is it had dynamic volumes. When I enter the Adaptec Host Sata Raid Controller Utility it tells me there are no arrays. Does this mean I have lost all data?

Make sure the Serial ATA controller is enabled on BIOS. Go to advanced/ Advanced chipset control settings/ and check the serial ATA controller. After that check the Boot Controller Order and verify if the SATA Controller if the CTR #1.

Thanks Gary, I followed your instructions and it has now booted back into sbs2003. All looks ok.
I think I would like to create an image of the c drive so that I can quickly restore the server in case of disk failure. Do you have any recommendations for this, I imagine it is not as straightforward as the Acronis True Image system that I use on my desktop pc?
