Hi, I must install win xp on Proliant 120 g5. can you provide me the ethernet driver? Thanks a lot.

Hi my Friend!

Windows XP is not a Server Operating System and it is not recommended. That's the reason why there are no Drivers for the Proliant Server DL120 G5 for windows XP. You might try other drivers, but it might not work. The NIC on this server is NC105i.

Try this one and let me know if that one worked:

Hi. I know that xp is not a server os but I must do that. The driver you provided don't work because the setup program tell me that the os is not correct.

Trying Updating the BIOS to the latest version. Sometimes the latest BIOS provides more compatibility features for the Operating Systems. Is that Windows XP professional 32bits?

HP NC105i Integrated PCI Express Gigabit Server Adapter. It is a broadcome NIC.

The NC105i is not listed in the broadcome page it is a new NIC.

In "my" Proliant ML115 G5 is a Broadcom BCM5722 Netextreme Server NIC on board installed.

To get a XP driver, I had to visit www.broadcom.com. Under Support there is a link to their FAQs. One FAQ deals with how to find the correct driver for the NIC. Their resolution is in this special FAQ, a table wich lists the device-IDs (from "your" unknown devices in the system/hardware list) and the corresponding Broadcom Modell Numbers and drivers.
This works fine.

Fine solved by Broadcom!

An idea where to find such an information directly on the HP sites (the manufacturer!) would be highly welcomed.
