I have ML350 G1...
and I bought Compaq HP 36.4GB Wide ULTRA3 SCSI 10K RPM Hot Pluggable U3 Universal Hard Drive 36GB.. it's 80 pins..

it was my Big!! mistake -_-;; haha..
the ML350 G1 has Integrated Dual Channel Wide Ultra2 SCSI Adapter 68pins and non-hot plug.

Can I still use the wide ultra3 scsi to my wide ultra2 SCSI controller without ultra3 scsi controller?

and I found SCA 80 ADAPTER TO 68 PIN ULTRA SCSI II/III LVD-SE..

also, some site said "SCSI Compatibility
SCSI devices are generally backward-compatible, i.e., it is possible to connect an ultra-3 SCSI hard disk to an ultra-2 SCSI controller and use it (though with reduced speed and feature set)."

is it true??

In general it is compatible. The controller will negotiate the speed with the drives.
Anyway, the use of the adapters may not be the best solution, but should work.

I have seen ultra2 disks even with pure SE-SCSI controllers ... slow, but working.

Good luck!
