I am wondering if the SmartArray E200 controllers may be configured over serial console.

I am able to hit F8 (ESC-8) to get into the ORCA utility -- but I cannot see any output after that.

Anybody find a work-around here. Unfortunately KVM is not an option for me.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of Hard drives do you have are they Serial ATA? If they are SATA they should be hut-pluggable. Was the server shipped the E200 Controller or did you get it as optional part? If you get it as an option you should have the HP PCI-X L/P riser kit Option 452698-B21
Is the integrated Serial ATA disabled?
Thanks for the reply.

This server shipped with the e200 controller in it. The drives are SAS.

I am not sure about the onboard SATA controller being enabled or disabled. I will check that out and see if a change will make a difference.

Thank you!
