Hello
Thanks for your very quick reply.
Xcopy is not the solution: it was for me only a way to explain the abnormally slow of the disks. I run virtual server on this system and the performances are the same as a pentiumII with 8mb of ram !! :-)

Access to the disks are not functionning in a acceptable way.

I understand the 6 bays because I have 3.5 disks. Can I presume that if the 2 SAS system disks in bays 1+2 and the 3 SATA raid5 data disks are in bays 4+5+6, then both raid are separated on both channels?

Is their special recommandation for the installation : Win2K3R2 X64 + virtual server R2.
Do you have antivirus running on the machine?

And beware that RAID 5 is slow on writing.

You didn't mention which array you were writing to but be aware of the e200i controller's write issue with SATA drives, see thread:

http://www12.itrc.hp.com/service/james/dispDoc.do?docURL=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.hp.com%2Fredirect.html%3Furl%3Dhttp%253A%2F%2Fforums11.itrc.hp.com%2Fservice%2Fforums%2Fquestionanswer.do%253FthreadId%253D1188496%26qt%3D%252Be200i%26hit%3D1&aid=SEARCH_FORUMS&pil=1&serStr=e200i&pir=1
