DL140 G3 Software/Firmware/Driver Update issue

I have a ProLiant DL140 G3 running windows server 2003 SP2 x86, when I go and download any of the HP drivers/firmware/software from HP for this model and attempt to install I get the following in the install window:

The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system.

Strange! The server is definetly DL140G3 and also says so when I run 'System Information' in Windows. Not sure why I can't update.

Have you tried the Firmware Maintenance CD?

and/or the latest Proliant Support Pack?

I considered it, but then noticed that the PSP and the Firmware cd are not made for this model (not on the downloads page). Will it be ok to run these cds on the server still despite this?

which drivers are you trying to install?? there a lot of them
anyway have you tried?

I ran the firmware cd this weekend as well as the PSP pack and updated anything it detected that was superseded on the cd. I have tried the latest versions of the drivers/firmware/software such as : HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb Driver for Windows Server 2003 ; HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003; HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003; HP NC-Series Broadcom Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server 2003/2008 etc

The software support disk would contain all relevant software for the server.

hi all,

we have a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Ent. running on Hp DL 140 G3 server. is there a new Firmware and PSP for this type of server?

as per checking to the link below it only support up to windows 2003 server and this is an old firmware version (6 Feb. 2007)
