I ran the HP Smart Update Manager on several Hp Proliant 380 units running Windows Server 2003. All but on of the updates were successful. One on of my units running Windows 2003 and Blackberry Enterprise Server will not let me run the HPSUM. I receive "Discovery Failed". I have attached a copy of the log file. Can anyone assist.

Please attach a zip file of the files under the directory %TEMP%\hp_sum. These are the trace logs that should tell us why HPSUM is failing in your configuration.

Also, what version of HPSUM (or PSP/Firmware CD) are you using in your tests?

Thanks,
Michael Garner
HPSUM Architect

I have the same error but I run Windows 2008 64bit on a Proliant ML350G5.

Since Support Pack 8.00 (8.11 and 8.15 same result) I only get these discovery errors and I can't upgrade any longer.

Things I have tried:
- I disabled my antivirussoftware (TrendMicro)
- Stopped all Hyper-V servers and services
- I uninstalled parts of HP management suit

Nothing helped. Please advice for a solution.

Yes, it worked. Thank you. Although strange that a discovery won't work.

The .cmd just forced all drivers to be installed. Including the ones I don't use.

Thanks again!

Matthijs
