Hi,

I reccently bought a HP ProLiant ML350 G5 server. Beside that i bought two SAS 3,5 harddisks both of 450 GB.

I wan't to use them as regular harddrives, so i have to harddrives, ect. C: and D:, and both on 450 GB.

But when I try to configure them, using HP Array Configuration Utiliy, I can only choose to use RAID 1+0 and RAID 0.

So in Windows Server 2003 I can only see one drive.

Can anyone help me please ;)

Thank you.

Best regards,

Rasmus

Hi Rasmus!

In ACU or ORCA (F8) make 2 arrays with 1 HDD, not 1 array with 2 HDD.

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have tried to make two SAS array, with one logical drive in each. Cause I thought that would do it. (when I do this i still have to choose RAID 0).

But I can still only see one drive in windows, this way. Do I need to do anything else?

/Rasmus

If you have 2 arrays in ACU, then you must see 2 hard drives in disk management. May be one of them not initialized?

I will take some pictures and upload, so you can see my configuration.

When you say disk management, do you then mean Explorer, Device Manager or what?

/Rasmus

Hi,

It sounds like you haven't created a file system on the second logical drive...

Right click My Computer, and go to Manage.

Then select Disk Management under Storage.

You should see the second drive there that you can partition up and format etc.

Cheers,

Rob
