it still sounds like the array controller...try flashing it to the latest rom (options rompaq for array controllers) and see if it clears anything up

I have a Proliant 2500 with a Smart 2-P controller. The same hard drive has been replaced 4 times and has always failed within a few weeks. the backplane, raid card and cable have been replaced. now when you bootup it asks if you want to auto rebuild, press f2, it starts to do this but after 5 minutes the online light goes out, no lights active except when drives are accessed then all three lights flash, even on the failed drive. On reboot it again detects failed array. Any ideas?
