    <description>SUMMARY/PROBLEM:&lt;BR /&gt;Serial Number is incorrect in the BIOS/SMHP.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SOLUTION:&lt;BR /&gt;1. Restart Server&lt;BR /&gt;2. Press [F9] for ROM-Based Setup Utility&lt;BR /&gt;3. Select System Information&lt;BR /&gt;4. Select Serial Number&lt;BR /&gt;5. Press [Enter] at warning screen&lt;BR /&gt;6. Delete old Serial&lt;BR /&gt;7. Enter correct serial number from Chassis.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is the process I use.</description>

      <title>Embedded Serial number does no match server sticker</title>

      <description>We have several HP servers which over the years have had new main boards.  &lt;BR /&gt;Consequently when you query the serial number in the HP Management tool it doesn't match the serial number label printed on the outside of the server.  Is there a way of altering the serial number electronically to match the printed number ?</description>

      <description>Yes you can alter the serialnumber in bios don't have the exact location of the menu in my head but it should be under advanced...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should always change the Serial number to match the printed one for Warrenty and so on...</description>
