LSI 1030 RAID or no RAID?

I am really confused, and as I was checking the forum, others are likewise. Unfortunately, I haven't found a concise answer. We have a bunch of Proliant ML 350 G4n with built-in LSI 1030. There seems to be a contention if these offer at least basic RAID (0,1) or not. At post, there is a configuration with F8 for tape drives before the drives are detected.

Hi Dippel,

HP ML350 series server upto G5 does not has any raid controller on board. ML350 G5 is the first in this series to have an onaboard Smart array E200 controller.

The ML350 G1, G2, G3, G4 and G4p(SCSI) has only onboard SCSI controller. This onboard SCSI controller does not provide RAID. On this ML350 series server if you need raid use a smart array controller.
