Hi,

I have a hp dl380 server which has

? HP Version Control Agent

As a result, i am not able to compare the installed version of firmware with the latest version released by HP.

It seems I need to Version Control Repository Manager. How do I go about doing that?

thanks

In the VCAgent web page for the guest, click on "Change Agent Settings" along the left of the page. Depending on which version you use, it may be in a different location...

In the page that pops up, type in the login information for your VCRM server. This may or may not be cached (it has always been hit or miss for me whether it remembers the password).

In the next screen select the management pack you want to use for reference and then save the changes.

Nelson

Hi,

I had clicked "change agent settings" - and it does come with the popup.

However, I don't know which is my VCRM server. How do I go about and check?
VCRM is usually run from your SIM server (in fact I think it HAS to). Are you running HP SIM in your environment. If so, check to see if the VCRM is also running on that server.

Nelson

No, the System Management Page is not the same as SIM. It has been a long time since I looked at the CDs that come with a server (I usaully chuck them right away) but I believe SIM does come on CD number 2. But it would be best to download it from HP to get the lastest version.

Note - Installing SIM is not a simple undertaking. It takes a lot of advanced thought and planning. Not something I can provide in these forums. You really need to dig into the documentaion or contact HP for support (setup an engagement).

Nelson
