I have a Windows 2003 Server HP SIM server up and running, but need to find out which Linux software packages to download and install in order for the server to manage and monitor the other hosts.

I am running RHEL 5.4 64bit on all servers (DL360 G6 / DL380 G6).

Do I have to install the smartstart or is there a smaller set of packages that are required? I have visited the Software Downloads page, but don't know which packages to download and install.

Once installed do I need to re-install these after ever RHEL kernel package update?

Regards David

Many thanks for the help. I have downloaded the PSP (psp-8.31.rhel5.x86_64.en.tar.gz) and am attempting to install it. I have run the following:

# ./install830.sh --nui

This seems to start OK, but then finally shows the following:

The Deployment Utility found 13 components to install

Preparing to install HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb and 10GbE Multifunction Driver for Linux v5.0.17-1

This rpm contains the bnx2 and bnx2x drivers for the HP
NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb and 10GbE Multifunction Gigabit
Ethernet NICs running under Linux.

Files necessary to complete the installation of the
HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb and 10GbE Multifunction Driver for Linux
were not found!

The HP Linux Support Deployment Utility has the capability to access necessary
files on a remote server via NFS.

Please enter the Name of the Remote NFS Server.
Please use the fully qualified hostname, or IP address.
(i.e. hostname.domain.topleveldomain)
=>

I do not have an NFS server available and also don't know where to download the correct "HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb and 10GbE Multifunction Driver for Linux". Where can I add this? I thought the whole point of the PSP is that it includes everything required?

I have attached the full log just in case it is of any use.

Regards David
