I have been encountering the same problem for some time now.
I have installed a SCSI IBM Ultrium Tape device, on HP Proliant ML350 G5 having Symantec Backup Exec 11D as the backing up on Windows 2003 STD .

during the backup the server just randomly restart . showing the attached error,

i have tried to update the drivers of the Tape Device, but the Backup Exec wouldn't recognize it anymore.

and if i disabled the ASR the server would just freeze.

is there another solution or ideas how to solve this issue
You're getting A PCI Bus error which is causing the system to reboot.

What model controller are you using to attach the IBM tape drive drive to? It needs to be a supported controller and configured properly.
