      <description>I setuop insight manager with email and pager notifications. Upon device discovery I did recieve notifications, after that when ever there is a failure, I'm not recieving any emails or pages. Any ideas on what to check?&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Have you configured the devices to send traps to your CIM?, otherwise you only get alarms when CIM have a task scheduled to get information from the devices, after you have setup the trap you can creat a notification task and set the "Uncleard Critical Events" and that the notfication executes "when new devices or events meet the query criteria"&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I just just pulled the cable from the nic and see a trap was sent to CIM but no notification was sent out. I don't see where this could be failing</description>

      <description>What version of HP Agents are you usÃ­ng? there is a patch/fix for CIM 7 SP2 if you have version 6.40 on the agents, one more thing. Have you tryed to restart the CIM service? I have had some problem that has been solved by restarting the CIM service.</description>

      <description>Majority of the servers are running the 6.40 agents. The CIM machine is running 6.40. I am seeing the event in the uncleared status report</description>

      <description>OK that's what I wanted to know. Now to get these alerts by email, you will need to create an event query such as the one I've attached. Then you will need to associate your email notification or create a new email notification for it.</description>

      <description>Ok it seems to me that your event queries if the rest of them are set up the same way are right on the money. Now I'm curious on how your email notification task is setup. Do you have your notification tasks setup to alert you when a new event or query meets the criteria?</description>

      <description>and I would also double check and make sure that the task asscoiated with the event actually gets executed. check the time stamp on the notification task to see if the task ran.</description>

      <description>I think I may have found what my issue was. In my queries I also had events by type selected which I removed and I started to recieve pages and emails.</description>
