I alway get "Timeout waiting for applets to load" when I try to run query or try to access something that require an applet. Is there a setting that needs to be modified.

It also happends when I try to access the uncleared events or device status buttons. Please advise?

As Piotr says, this sounds very much like a java issue. But then I would expect that you would get no quiries to run, not even the Devices-Overview.

Assuming you are accessing IM from a windows machine have a look at all the java Plug-ins in Controle panel and ensure that nothing is selected in any of them on the Browser page. If any have some thing selected then that version is used as the default in the browser and can cause issue with things like IM if it wants a different version.

Go into Control Panel on the device you are browsing FROM into IM7. Open up each of the "Java Plugin..." and go to the Browser tab and make sure Internet Explorer is NOT checked. If you have multiple plugins installed, you need to do this for each one.

Once completed, close all your browsers and open back up; hopefully that will help.

I'm not sure if Mozilla is supported for IM 7, but you will need probably need to relax cookie security to get any chance of it working.

Did the above replies solve the issue?
I have exactly the same problem - just with queries it seems. I have Netscape 7.1 install as well as IE6. Also have Java 1.3.1_02 and 1.4.1_07 but both control panel settings have the browsers switched off.
Any ideas?? Thanks

I have the same problem using IE6.0 SP1. I applied Bill's and Darrin's suggestion
for my one java plug-in without result. Lowering Intranet zone security a notch
had no effect. Cookies settings are OK. One spontaneous followup error I get is
"Object doesn't support this property or method..." This error also occurs when
attempting to log out. (Different File Name and Line Number references, but same error message.) Given the number of us with this problem I wish an HP moderator would take an interest. Thanks for any help.

There have been a number of comments in the thread that need addressing...

IM7 SP2.3 is the last and final version of IM7. It only supports Internet Explorer and requires the use of JRE 1.3.1_09. (I won't go into all the reasons that have been discussed multiple times here before)

One thing that has not been discussed is whether the problem occurs at the station where the IM7 application is running as well as at a workstation. My inclination is rather than blaming the application, looking at the chain of communications. Failing that, possibly a restart of the IM7 server is in order.

David Claypool, Thank you, thank you, thank you! Installing JRE 1.3.1_09 did the trick. I still imagine that not selecting a browser on the Browser tab of plugin configuration may also contribute to success. It will be great to finally get some use out of the IM7 web front end.
J.Eddy
