IM7 SQL Table Technical Documentation?

I am looking for advanced documentation on the SQL Tables used in Insight Manager 7. The information in c00307422.pdf (creating custom reports from the Insight Manager 7 database) is limited to basic asset reporting and related tables.

I'm interested in how SNMP Traps are received and put into tables. Most specifically, I'm even more interested in finding if and how the Insight Manager service "filters" incoming SNMP traps before and/or after store.

I'm having some issues with some SNMP agents. I want to verify if the Insight Server is even receiving the traps, if it is receiving them but filtering them before the store, and/or if the trap data is being stored but filtered out and not turned into a notification.

First, please note that IM7 is end of life and is no longer maintained, having been replaced by HP Systems Insight Manager more than 3 years ago.

The SQL tables are documented in your online help, just check the contents. Also in the Technical Reference Guide for IM7, which is still available by going to http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library and at the bottom of the page will be the link for 'Insight Manager 7 documents.' The tables are in chapter 16.

That information may not be what you are looking for to answer your question, though. See page 11-25 of that same document for information about Event Filtering.

Thank you for the link the Technical Reference Manual (c00307421.pdf). That was exactly what I was looking for! I couldn't find it from the legacy Insight Manager 7 product page, but did from this link (2 links in from the main SIM page you posted):

Update:

I actually had read through this manual previously. It doesn't address how traps are actually received and if and when they are put to the trap tables.
