I have CIM7SP2 loaded on a W2K SP3 box. I also have the VCRM loaded on this same box. When viewing IM, I do not have any Green Check marks under the SW column for any of my servers. I can access all of my servers VCA page, System Management page and Management Agents page fine. Has anyone else seen this problem?

What is the status that you have for all of the servers? Is it unknown? Minor? More details, please. Are each of the servers configured to point to the repository and the appropriate reference Support Paq?

Brent

The latest VC agents are installed, pointing to the correct VCRD server, with the correct passwords.

The software on about 25 servers is the latest versions. The others have older drivers but the most current Agents.

If I go to a device's Version Congrol Agent Home Page, the status will indicate all current.

I got this of a support document it might help!

Try the followings if 'Blue' Indication or Unknown listed as software status.

Cause

by Version Control Agents not configured correctly...?? The monitored server cannot compare its drivers and software to the database, because it??is not??configured to access the Version Control Database.

Resolution/Workaround

1. Ensure Agents are all loaded and working properly.?? Ensure SNMP is correctly configured on all machines.

2. Set the trusts between the Version control server and the server affected,??using the web agent options??(Recommend 'Trust All' during troubleshooting)

3. In the server affected - Set the Version Control Agent's settings??by selecting Version Control Agent, then Options (Enter the credentials used for administrator Web agent access on the Version Control Server)

4. In CIM7 - Under TASKS, run the Software Polling Querry

I hope it helps

George

I made a mistake when originally setting this up that caused the same thing you are seeing. I figured it would be worth mentioning "just in case". When you configure the version control agent package you have the option to set the server name, and administrator password for the server acting as your repository manager. Because it asked for the servername, then the admin password, I assumed this was for the local admin account, and entered that password. It is actually for the administrator password of the web agent that is running on that box. You can configure this after the fact by going to one of your servers that has the blue dot showing up, going into the version control agent, and selecting options. You will see the servername of your repository manager and a password. Type in the correct password and click set. A green checkbox will appear if you enter the correct password, or a yellow box if you enter an incorrect password. It would be worth checking out anyway.

Jeff

The Version Control agents can see the VCRM Server. On the VCAgent Home page it even displays the: Installed Version, Support Paq Version, and Latest Version. On this page I have a Green Check mark for the Overall Software Status, just not on the CIM7 Devices page.

What you need to do to correct this is the following. I ran into this myself when I upgraded to SP2.

-Go to the servers Device Home Page.

- Go to Settings, HTTP Server Options.

- Make sure local access is checked with Administrator option.

-Down further, make sure that Trust all is selected.

That should fix it. You may need to go to the VC Page on each server and re-save the configuration.

Hope this helps.
Ron

I agree with Ron that you will need to check the local access checkbox on each servers HTTP options, but you can also set it to trust by certificate. On the same screen you will just have to make sure the cert for you IM server appears in the trusted server list.

Jeff

I've rebooted the CIM7 server and will restart the Compaq agents on the 5 selected servers and then re-rerun the above mentioned tasks. I'll post back here with he results.
