I have been asking this question a few times here. There has been no good answers.

What data do you want to export? If its devices you want to export then create a host file and then import it to the new box.

The database is not easily transferable because the two servers will have different names.

I have been told be a few people that its not even worth trying just setup autodiscovery on the new server and let it find all the devices.

I know its not the answer you are looking for but if I do find a better one I will post it here.

If you are building the new server with the same name then you can install the CIM7 and then backup the IM database with something like DbaMGR2K (which can be downloaded from internet)and restore it.

George
