Hello

After some troubles with 2 server running out of diskspace. I am trying to setup the disk treshold trough insight manager.

I am using Cim Agent Version 5.40 at the moment. Together with CIM7 and Cim5.50 for Win32.

But when is configure the tresholds using Cim7 nothing happens. And when is configure the tresholds trough Cim5.50 Win32 manager i cannot see the tresholds in the Managemant page of the server (http://servername:2301 )

But when i setup the tresholdsettings using the Management Page. I can also see the settings using Cim5.50 Win32.

But i do not get a warning message when a treshold is passed / failed

You need to configure your SNMP and Compaq Management/Web Agents properly before you can set thresholds.

You need to set a READ/WRITE community string in your SNMP settings (you can change the default public community string but this is not recommended for security reasons)

You need to make sure that CIM7 is also configured with the same community strings as your servers. This can be set as a control task on CIM7.

The Compaq Management Agents (found on Control Panel)need to be configured to Enable SNMP Sets.

The last thing that needs to be done is get your device Web Management Agents to trust you CIM7 Server by setting the trus mode to "Trust by Certificate" get the certificate from your CIM7 Server by select options from you device Home Page.

Once your CIM7 SNMP, Device SNMP and your Compaq/Web Managment Agents are configured you should be able set your threshholds.

Raymon,

NetWare is not supported by the Group Configuration feature in Insight Manager 7 and thus you can not set thresholds this way.

However, you can set disk thresholds using the web agents.

I don't know why you aren't seeing those threshold passed messages. Do you have the Insight Manager 7 system setup as a trap destination in the SNMP configuration settings?

When i configure windows 2000 Server to send traps i must specifie a community. But is this the write or the read community ?

With the write community it works. But do i have to use that community.

And is it possible to Only send email messages when the disk fills up. And no other warnings. Because i want to send the disk warnings to several people. But no other warnings
