routing using 2650

Hi

i got a 2650 with 2 vlans

vlans 1 aml ip 192.168.20.0
vlans 2 asl ip 192.168.50.0

i want to used this switch for routing traffic between these two vlans.

can anyone help me.

default ip is 192.168.10.10
default gateway is 192.168.10.1.

Hi

1- Enable IP Routing on the 2600, so it can route between its Vlans:

SW2650(config)#ip routing

2- Enter the default route on the switch:
SW2650(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.10.1

From what you say, you seem to have 3 VLANs and associated subnets defined on your switch: two for clients (192.168.20.0/24 and 192.168.50.0/24) and one for some other purposes (either switch management, your internet access or something else: 192.168.10.0/24).

In case 192.168.10.0/24 subnet is used for internet access, what Mohieddin said is correct; if it is used for switch management you don't need to define the default network.

The default gateways for the clients should be the IP addresses of the VLAN interfaces defined on the switch (probably setup as 192.168.20.1 and 192.168.50.1, both having subnet masks 255.255.255.0).
