topic Move Procurve Manager in Switches, Hubs, and Modems

I am considering moving my procurve manager install to a different server. I am curious what would be involved in order to retain my licenses and my database/config.
Thanks

Hi Rob,

When you install it on a new server it will give you a new Install ID. You will need to contact support to have your license reset so that you can move it to the new server.

Matt

I would generally opt for the opportunity for a clean install and would first export my devices from the old installation:

Tools > Exports > Export devices

On the new PCM+ server, obviously you would need to do the import.

I've never tried moving the PCM+ database from one machine to another, but if you wanted to try that you would need to copy over the
\PNM\server\mysql directory to the new machine. You would need to stop the PCM services before doing this.
