Does anyone have a link where I can download this mib and/or the OID's I would need to use SNMP to change passwords on Procureve 2650's etc. The release notes for firmware H.10.32 indicate this is now possible but I can't locate any details for how to use this feature.

Regards
Jim

Hi Steffen - Grateful for the reply, and I've downloaded and searched through this full set of HP mibs. The only one with items relevant to authorization is hpicfAutz.mib which has items for changing the primary and secondary authentication methods, but I still can't find anything about changing local manager and operator passwords as stated in the H.10.32 release notes.

Thanks again
Jim

It looks as though the MIB files haven't been updated to include this new feature quite yet.

Doing a walkmib on the switch I can see the following:

hpicfSwitchUserName.1 =
hpicfSwitchOperatorName.1 =
hpicfSwitchUserPassword.1 =
hpicfSwitchOperatorPassword.1 =

But I don't have the numerical OID's for these objects.

I can set the manager password with the following:

ProCurve Switch 8212zl# setmib hpicfswitchuserpassword.1 -D procurve
hpicfSwitchUserPassword.1 = procurve

I'll investigate this a bit further and see if I can get the required MIB.

Hi Matt,

Many thanks for chasing that down - I'll check back for the mibs on the HP download site periodically but what you've shown will be enough for me to use this feature.

Regards
Jim
