Hi,

wondered if anyone else was seeing the issue when you put vlans on interfaces 27 and 28 (default vlan 1 is unaffected), write it to memory and then reboot, the vlans are removed from the interfaces. Hence they are not reboot safe.

I am on R.11.07 (latest). I was on R.11.04 and on that version you could not even do a "show interfaces 27" or 28 without it throwing an error. I have a few 2610-48s and as far as i know the issue is the same on them but they are live so i can't verify it.

cheers,
Martin

I'm using HP LX sfp's, if you have one of these switches, try it out as its quite concerning, especially if the sfp is your main route into the switch.

do:
vlan 4000
tagged 28
write mem

then reboot the switch and it disappears!

cheers,
Martin

Hi Cenk,

as i only have one of this exact model and its live, i cant test this, however we tried it out with a few vlan id's including the one we are actually using which is 2830 and it does the same thing.

It looks very much like the bugs in R.11.04 are not fully resolved in the latest release, i'm guessing that the code was ported from the 2600s as all the bugs seem to relate to the ports not being dual personality on the 2610s.

cheers,
Martin.

I have opened a support case with HP for this one, they have acknowledged that it is a bug so hopefully the next software release will see it fixed.

"The case is elevated to the 2nd level who are working on it.

The same issue does affect the switch models: 2610-48, since the same model runs the same software."
