topic Need help with ip routing between HP 4108 and Cisco router in Switches, Hubs, and Modems

I have been working on a vlan between two hp switches that so far I am to ping all my internal address, the problem I have is I can't get out to the Internet. I am new with networking and can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
I have a vlan defined between a 4104 (x.x.12.251) and a 4108 (x.x.12.252) and have set up a ip route, on the cisco router (2651) route ip 10.10.12.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1
I can ping from the cisco to the two defined ip address that represent the switches and from a laptop connected to the vlan (x.x.12.0) I can ping anywhere but no joy on going to the Internet. There is a vlan (x.x.11.1)currently defined that uses a multihomed Win2003 server (x.x.11.11 and x.x.10.11) and has no issues going out but I want to be able to have the switches and router do the work. any ideas - or do I need to provide more information. Any help is greatly appreciated.
