topic ACL and no Ping in Switches, Hubs, and Modems

Hello,

I have created and ACL and have assigned it to a VLAN. Things seem to be working except 1 small detail which my application desparately needs. Machines that are part of this vlan with the ACL assigned cannot ping the vlan gateway. Can someone help? I would really appreciate an answer today if possible as i am working in an outage window!

Thanks
