I have configured my 3500yl to update the time from an ntp server, but it's not working, because this morning, the date was 2007. I have set the time and date by hand, but I'd like to get ntp working anyway.

Attached is the config...can someone help me see where I went wrong? (and yes, the server at 192.168.108.7 is accepting NTP requests)

Hello,
most probably you are hitting a bug here (introduced with SNTP authentication).

This one should be solved with a newer SW release, which you should be able to receive from support.

Regards,
Ralf

That's why you should contact support. ;-)

Sometimes, they have kind of "hot-fixes"!
Thank you for contacting ProCurve Support.

An SNTP server can be configured to either broadcast the time updates on the network, or to only reply to queries for time updates. The switch must be configured to match that of the server.

That being said, SNTP is actually broken in the version of firmware you currently have installed. This has been fixed in the latest version of firmware, K.14.55. This version has not yet been posted to the ProCurve web site, but soon will be. When it is posted, you will find it here:
http://www.procurve.com/customercare/support/software/switches.htm
