What is the meaning of Egde port, Access port and
Trunk port used in the switches? Can anybody explain?

Edge port are those ports in the switch which connect to end-nodes or unmanaged switches, usually at the edge of the network. End-nodes include IP Phones, Servers, Laptop users etc.

Trunk ports are those which ports in a switch which participate in a 'trunk'. Trunk is a logical grouping of ports(upto 8 ports can be grouped into a single trunk) to achieve higher bandwidth....Trunk groups are setup across backbone connections, or other areas of network where there are traffic bottlenecks...

Just to clarify something since you mentioned Access port and trunk, access port difination is not used in PorCurve, it's used in cisco and it's regarding the VLAN membership.

Trunk also is different in Cisco than in HP, trunk is cisco means the port will carry traffic for different VLANS, in HP it is as Javed mentioned is the logical interface which groups number of phizical interaces together.

To make the port in HP as a member of a specific VLAN then you have to Untag it under that VLAN, this is the same as Access port in Cisco.

To make the port carry the traffic for different VLANS between switches (uplink ports) you need to tag that port under all the VLANs you want it to carry, this is the same as configuring the port as TRUNK in Cisco.

Trunk in HP is the same as Ether-Channel in Cisco.
